I did make some progress on my list as you will see below. When Robert got home from job A. Ari and I went in with him to job B. and ate and sat before walking home.
The updated list;
- Be sure litter gets done
- As much laundry as possible
- Cats fed
- Me all cleaned up
- Last before birth date with Robert
We went to the library and got some groceries and had an altogether leisurely morning. Right now Robert is visiting one of his good friends for a bit and I am waiting for the oven to heat up so I can cook a pizza for me and Ariana.
She is coloring right now.
We had our pizza and now Ari is down for a nap.
My Ode to Kitchens....
The Cozy Kitchen
I don't like my Kitchen-not because of how it looks or anything
but because it is missing that homeyness that so many other kitchen's have
So what in my mind makes a cozy kitchen?
A place where you can come into the house and the smell of freshly baked breads, cakes, cookies, homemade pizza and cinnamon rolls greets your senses.
So delightful in it's delicious smells that people outside can smell it.
Meals always ready when someone is hungry whether or not everyone manages to eat together.
Freshly grown cucumber and tomatoes served on rye bread.
Strawberries straight out of the garden, washed and served.
Homemade potato rolls with freshly canned strawberry rhubarb jam.
Peaches from a tree that is the envy of the neighborhood.
Homemade ice cream, canned salsa, fresh flowers on the table.
A clean and delightful gathering place where everyone wants to be because it is so cozy and the essence of home.
My favorite kitchens are My Mom's...she is always baking cookies and brownies, and when she bakes bread! WOW! She is always so good about feeding people as the need arises and it is always delicious. My Mom's hospitality in the kitchen is legendary and well remembered by all who know her.
My sister, Elizabeth, also has one of the coziness kitchens ever. She seems to be constantly making something. Canning, cakes, having parties that none can rival for food, meals served in an orderly European fashion, homemade ice cream and treats and delights of all kinds. Elizabeth is exceptional too!
I also really love my Grandma's kitchen...she is a woman for experiments that generally are very delicious and delightful.
My Mother-in-law also is something to behold in her kitchen. I have never known one individual to go so extremely all out for a holiday as she does.
I don't remember my other Grandma-Grandma in Richmond to well but I remember loving sitting in her kitchen/dining room but a big window eating ham and green beans and drinking out of polka dotted glasses and everything so cozy.
I want my kitchen to feel like that...and to smell and taste like all those mentioned above.
