Today is the 21st birthday of my friend and cousin: Amira Madonna Masri.
Amira and I are very good friends but we have not always been.
When we were all kids...I was about eight I'd see and my cousin Rebekah about nine or ten and Amira around 6.
Well...Rebekah and I were very ambitious to convert people to Christianity. That is a good thing however I would not suggest doing it the way we did: locking her in a room while we made her listen to us.
Amira did NOT appreciate that.
When we came from Latvia in 1997 we lived at Grandma's house in Wheaton for about 6 months. Amira was there almost every weekend and then we became very close. We got into trouble quite a bit and that was part of why we became close.
After we moved to Montana Ruthy came out and lived with Grandma for awhile with Amira and Truth and we started writing stories together.
We continued that and when Amira came to Harlan to visit us we began our best work-we actually finished the rough draft of that one: Freely Given. About the Mongol invasion of Egypt in 1260.
Amira and I used to talk online from like 10 pm to 3 or 4 in the morning.
That visit where we started our nice long book we talked all night every night until 7 in the morning...I miss those days.
Amira is one of the most fun people you will ever meet. She is incredibly unique and likes to show it. She is an extremely creative person who loves writing and drawing and does it very very well.
I miss that girl...
I love you AMIRA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I miss you and wish I could see you today. I hope you have a really wonderful birthday Maymay.
