Nine days ago was the birth of our precious little boy; Judah Adoniram Lee.
I went in to my checkup that Monday morning with bag packed but still unsure as to if I was truly being induced that day. The nurse just did her usual thing and seemed unaware of the tentative plan of inducing me. I was worried.
After all that waiting to have to wait longer?
Well then Doctor Heileson came in and asked "Is it a good day to have a baby?"
I was super relieved.
I went and got all checked in and then up to the OB where they had me change and had me hook up to some monitors.
This was about 9am.
For the first half hour Lori and Ariana were there with me before going to get some breakfast.
All I did for the first hour was be on the monitor and push a button anytime I felt Judah move.
At 10 they put the IV in and drew some blood but it was far far less painful then last time.
Amanda arrived around 10:30 and Lori returned this time without Ariana since Cassie was watching her.
We played a few rounds of Dutch Blitz but then my arm was hurting from the IV so we stopped that.
My parents arrived a bit later...not sure of the exact order of things but around that time they gave me a pill to get labor going hopefully.
The afternoon moved rather slowly...
Cynthia and Jeff came and visited for awhile...
I was on and off the monitors and it seemed like whenever I was off them things started moving forward.
My parents had to leave around 4pm sadly...
Alex arrived around 5:30 from work and Robert around six.
Sometime after they gave me a second pill although by this time I was in and out of stronger contractions but they were still quite bearable.
I had some soup and promptly threw it up again.
Admittedly the next hours from 6pm-Midnight are rather foggy.
I know I had stronger contractions...
The nurses kept an eye on everything...
Robert took a nap...
Cynthia, Amanda and Alex massaged my hands for LONG periods of time.
I walked the halls somewhat...
Robert breathed with me...
We all talked and visited.
I decided I couldn't totally handle the pain so she gave me something in the IV which gave everyone balloon heads for about 15 minutes before the fuzziness wore off.
Around 1am they decided they would break my water which happened about 15 minutes later.
And then...EVERYTHING started to move.
The contractions were WAY WAY more intense and I did scream a few times although not as much as last time I'm told.
Dr. Heileson was very calm and in control and Robert and the nurse were there reminding me to breathe...30 minutes after they broke my water Judah was born!
What a beautiful little boy he is!
He held my finger right after he was born when they handed him to me to hold.
Robert cut the cord...he looked so excited to see his little son!
Judah was 7lbs12oz and 21 inches long.
I had to have a couple stitches but this time it was a 1st degree tear as opposed to the 3rd degree from last time.
Once Jeff got there Robert announced his name.
Judah- after the Judah in the Bible which may raise some questions since he did not start out the best..however Judah finished well. Also Judah was Leah's fourth son and with him her attitude had changed and she said This time I will Praise the Lord and Judah mean Praise. We liked that.
Adoniram-after the Missionary to Burma Adoniram Judson and we liked the meaning "My God is Exalted"
Lee-After Jeff whose full name is Jeffrey Lee.
Since his arrival Judah has totally captured our hearts! He has blue eyes right now and eating is EXTREMELY important to him. After five seconds he is convinced he will go through life without ever eating again and he cried to show what he thinks of such an unjust world.
He smiles a lot too..so much so that I just can't believe it is just gas or a tickly tummy.
Ariana loves him a lot but I do think it is hard for her not to be the center of attention anymore...
Trying hard to maintain a balance with that.
Well that is it for today!

Lovely ,which I could hold him!
I wish I could have seen myself with a balloon head. ;-) It was an amazing experience to be there and your little Judah is unbearably precious! I love the names and reasons you chose them. It will be so exciting to see the man he grows up to be!
