I spent a lot a time thinking about who to write about this week. I finally decided yesterday to write about my brothers.
I know this is starting to sound like a family thing-hehe but it seemed like a good idea today.
My brothers Abe and Matthew are currently 27 and 25 I believe. We did NOT always get along and still don't to this day.
I was always very interested in what they were doing. For awhile they were constantly reading and thinking about pirates. Abe even spray painted a whole bunch of pennies silver to look more like treasure. Whenever I could I would go to thier room to listen to the pirate stories they were weaving.
Awhile later it was the book they wrote about a make believe world...it was so interesting. But while they did a lot of stuff and schemes together they were also about as different as could be.
Abe is the better athlete of the too. Partial skill, hard work and then just agression. A LOT of agression.
If Abe thinks it he says it just about always. When we lived in Montana he taught himself how to play the guitar-very very well. Abe is my oldest big brother and my first hero.
Matthew is the softer spoken of the two but just as stubborn. Only you won't know what he's thinking until he's already decided to do it. And then arguing is futile. I actually played a lot more with Matthew because when Elizabeth and Abe went to college it was us at home for awhile. When we were little we used to play legos a lot. Have car races down the double staircase in the church, play wild band of horses with our 30+plastic horses and invent crazy games with our Lion King figurines.
After we gave those up we invented a new game; Levi and Lila the two sibling explorers whose house was in a giant sequoia and had no end of outdoor animal related adventures.
When we moved to Harlan we walked EVERYWHERE and I would read aloud to Matthew we walked. We covered Left Behind the Kids (40 books) Millie Keith (8 books) Elsie Dinsmore (8 books) Viking Quest (5 books) and I don't remember what else.. Those were some good times.
My brothers are also very special in that will watch classic literature movies with me and Elizabeth and my Mom. And ALL the Road to Avonleas.
I know I have given them a lot of grief and sorrow over the years-particularly the last couple...and I wish they could know how sorry I am for it and how much I love them.
This is a very special song I would like to dedicate to my brothers although it does not necessarily apply...
